I don’t want to give any secrets away, but I will say that I was super excited to help out with an extra special baby reveal party yesterday! I know, the suspense is tough, but all will be announced (and more pretty pictures shared) very soon. Meanwhile, I can share a few tips on how to make these easy and affordable cute little cake toppers!
With minimal supplies, we crafted these precious DIY cake toppers for our sparkly reveal cake (aren’t those sprinkles the best you’ve ever seen?!). To make our little bees, we simply printed two at varied sizes, cut them out, then layered them onto alternating papers in shades of blue and pink (we used bahama blue shimmer and shell shimmer). We trimmed a couple of skewers to different heights and with a spot of hot glue, voila!
This darling fringe bunting cake topper is probably the easiest thing I’ve ever made, but it turned out adorably! Tie a small length of thread (I used baker’s twine) between two skewers. Cut a strip of crepe paper streamer to fit between the skewers. Run an adhesive (like Tombow) down the center of the strip lengthwise, then position your thread/twine along that central line and fold the crepe paper over. Now just cut small slits down the entire length of your streamer and then fluff a little bit to create your fringe. Easy-peasy!
So… what do you think baby will bee?
