Ooooh, to attend Bridal Fashion Week in NYC would be a dream… to ooh and ahh and critique luxurious wedding gowns while bumping elbows with some of the top bloggers, reporters, and photographers in the industry and applauding elite designers. Wow! Well, luckily there is the internet.
So I pulled up my chair and curated my very own internet fashion show of sorts to get the skinny on what trends will be hitting the aisle in 2013. Everything from daring backless styles to softly draped organza toppers seem to be in vogue, so much so that I’m almost inclined to ask what isn’t trending for the new year rather than ask what is. But no bride wants to look at dresses of old… no, no, we’ve all seen enough of those before. Let’s take a peek at what’s to come: intricate details, gorgeous beading, tulle, tulle, and more tulle (some may cringe, but I love this), feminine illusion necklines, sleeves, and backs, and big, full skirts!
Along with all of the above beauties, high necks with mini skirts, dresses in not only color, but patterned fabric, and slinky long numbers — to name a few — are all in demand this year. A good rule of thumb: if you love it, that’s all that matters. Don’t let me, Colin Cowie, or your momma tell you different!
