I LOVE that the handmade market is such a flourishing one. I am a huge proponent for the Shop Local and Buy Handmade campaigns and there’s no better time than the holidays to show some extra love to those downtown shops and local artisans. Aside from supporting the community, I just love finding perfectly unique gifts for friends and family… especially those tough-to-buy-for folks. And if all else fails, DIY it!
If you’re local to the Triangle, and you’ve got some names left on your list, check out a few of my downtown Raleigh favorites: Epona & Oak, DesignBox, and Kindred. If you’re closer to Cary, head downtown near Ashworth Village for a few good spots, including LuckyPie Gallery and The Purple Polka Dot.
And, of course, no matter where you live, Etsy is just a few clicks away!
If you’d like to give a thoughtfully heartfelt homemade gift, these DIY items are well-worth giving a try and would no doubt put a smile on someone’s face.
