Christine + Isaac: A Seaside Soiree

It may be a cliche, but that doesn’t make it untrue: timing is everything. When Christine and Isaac first met, he was selling cars, and she was in the market for an SUV. A transaction was made, but sparks didn’t fly… yet!

Meet Isaac and Christine

Two years later, in 2008, Isaac started doing freelance work for Christine’s employer. They ended up on the same job doing relief work for the Red Cross in Baton Rouge after Hurricane Gustav, and it was there that they really started to get to know each other. Now, they’ve been together for 4 years, and were engaged for 2 of those years!

The Floridian lovebirds both enjoy the beach and its many activities, and that’s exactly where Isaac proposed. Naturally, they decided it would be the perfect place for their wedding ceremony as well!

For a coastal theme, they chose “sea glass” with lots of starfish accents. The featured colors were all different shades of sea glass, many blues and greens. Christine found that The Green Kangaroo‘s couture invitation, the Coastal Ava Shimmer Wrap, complimented her vision to a tee.

“The invitations were a HUGE part of our wedding theme! We really wanted a WOW that would set the stage, and get our guests excited for a fabulous, fun beach weekend!”

The week leading up to the wedding was unusually stormy, but Friday through Monday the couple and their guests were graced with perfect, sunny Florida weather. (The day after the festivities ended, the rain started up again!)

To welcome their guests in style, Christine and Isaac threw a beach party cookout on Friday, with beach games, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. Magnifying the fun factor, they set up a “boozy sno cone” station featuring margarita, mojito and daiquiri flavors!

Christine and Isaac's big day

On the big day, Christine indulged in a relaxing spa morning with her bridal party. That afternoon, friends and family gathered for a sweet ceremony on the sand behind the Marriott Singer Island. The wedding party attire was fairly casual, with knee-length chiffon dresses in different sea glass shades for the ladies, and linen pants and sea glass colored linen shirts for the guys.

Afterwards, the reception commenced at the Harriet Himmel Theater. The formal venue was transformed into a whimsical scene by 350 Chinese paper lanterns in shades of blue and green.

Christine and Isaac had the time of their lives dancing the night away with their loved ones, beyond elated to be married to their best friend at last.
