Inspired by the intricate detail adorning LIT Decor’s handpainted lanterns, we’ve put together an elegant Moroccan themed wedding day look. Understated colors with exquisite patterns give this traditionally vibrant style a calm and romantic feel.
LIT Decor, based in Cary, North Carolina, is an evolving, eclectic dream of owner and artist, Vanessa Cline. She studied design just down the street at NCSU and has based her business around what she truly loves to do: create. She is inspired by exotic cultures and historical design. And… she’s a bride too! (Can you imagine how pretty all of her lanterns would be hanging from tree branches illuminating a summer evening?!) I asked Vanessa what part of planning she is most looking forward to and she called a tie between styling her nine year old daughter’s dress for the big day and planning the honeymoon! She’s excited about her own dress, of course, but she shared, “I just have these visions in my head of her – very ethereal, crown of flowers, wood nymph-esque. I cannot think of a time I have had such a good excuse to play dress up in such an elaborate manner with my little girl, and I am very excited to share these moments with her.” How sweet! She didn’t say where they might be headed for their honeymoon, but it will be an extended vacation and I’m sure they’ll pick somewhere perfect and exotic.
Be sure to check out all of her lantern styles on Etsy! And keep an eye on this gal, because she’s only just begun! Vanessa shared that she’s hoping to launch her website soon and, since she’s never short on new ideas, I just know we’ll be seeing lots of pretty new things from her.
