Monica Hudak is our Production Assistant at The Green Kangaroo, but she takes on many responsibilities and is truly like our “Little Angel!” Always ready and willing to lend a helping hand, she is such a an asset to our TGK team. She shows support to all of us other girls, filling in when we most need it, and on top of being a super busy worker-bee she finds time to make us laugh with silly pranks and funny stories!
“Normally, first thing in the morning, I’ll prioritize my jobs for the day. Then, I’ll fulfill sample orders for an hour or so. After the samples are all mailed, I’ll start working on the orders due that day or week. Gluing, tying ribbons, taping, and counting are usually all a part of my day. After I complete all of the assembly for the day, I’ll pack up and ship the orders.”
Monica also shares that the most important aspect of her job “…is making sure each order I assemble and pack goes out in the condition that I’d like to receive it in if I were the customer.“ She adds that responsibility of assembling each order isn’t something that is calculated on a machine, but rather it is counted and assembled by hand. And when it’s Monica’s hand doing the counting and assembling, you can bet your order will be as near to perfect as humanly possible.
Recently, Monica has started to play a bigger role in helping to get sample orders out the door as well. She and Lori team up to send out our samples in lightning speed! Monica also writes every month for Between Designs, keeping us in the know on all things Botanical. You see, Monica is our resident green-thumb; currently, she helps us keep our plants happy in the studio while juggling pocket wedding invitation orders and greeting the UPS man, but one day we’ll be visiting her on her flower farm!
Monica’s Expert Tip: If you want to have a hand in the creation of your elegant wedding invitations, give TGK’s DIY option a try. Though it may take a little bit of practice at first, we make it simple for you with how-to videos and tutorials on the blog. Even the not-so-crafty bride can assemble her own invitations with a little patience and attention to detail! (But, of course, if you prefer to not layer your menus or tie bows on your ribbon programs, Monica’s happy to help!)
HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY to Monica! Be sure to come by this Friday, August 10, to wish her a happy day!
