Hello, hello, Friday!  It’s been another busy week here at The Green Kangaroo.  Katie squeezed in a hiking trip and a new floral wedding invitation design this week!  I spent my evenings wrapping up the last of my DIY wedding invites… but I also took a break last night to catch my fiances band, Once and Future Kings, along with the Annuals, at Raleigh’s Oak City 7 summer concert series.  I think we’re all excited about the weekend though; baby showers, birthday celebrations, and lots wedding planning will be taking place.  Oh, and, of course, some relaxation too… perhaps with a gin + tonic lollypop!

Lori and I celebrated The Bachelorette finale with pink strawberry margarita cupcakes from a local cupcake shop, Gigi’s!  We were both pretty excited that Emily picked Jef (he was my favorite from night one).

Wedding cakes are one of my favorite things about weddings! I love seeing the cake that each bride and groom chooses. The options seem to be limitless! Aside from just being lovely, this one caught my eye because of the unique cake stand. It’s a real tree trunk from Lake Norman, NC – a place of special meaning to this groom’s family.
