Q: Does the paper of my wedding invitations need to match the color of my wedding dress? I’ve selected a diamond white dress and want to be sure to coordinate … and not clash!
A: Last week we queried our Facebook fans to see if the color of your dress or linens plays a role (or not) in selecting the color for your wedding invitation paper. While that level of detail is often overlooked, we find that many brides do in fact want to achieve a seamless color scheme across the board. One Facebooker commented:
“I selected a diamond white dress – not pure white but not ivory either. It has made MANY other color decisions (groom’s vest and tie color, linen color, etc.) a bit complicated. Having pure, bright white paired with any other shade of white (and there are many, it turns out) makes the darker of the two appear dingy.”
If shades of white (and ivory!) are an issue for you, take heart! TGK’s designers are just as particular about color (and paper, and ink, and design …) as our most fastidious customer! We offer a wide selection of paper colors and textures that are easy to view within each invitation’s “Build and Buy” tabs on our Web site. And we happily provide complimentary ink and paper swatches with every sample order so you can see and feel your options (and compare them against your dress!) before making a selection.
Of course, if you’re like me and select a diamond white dress and ivory invitations without a second thought to your color scheme, we doubt anyone will be the wiser (`wink’)!
