The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are one of the most popular times of the year for couples to get engaged. (In fact, my very own brother-in-law got engaged to perhaps the most wonderful girl over the holidays. Congrats Steven and Lauren!) So January and February = Save the Date time at The Green Kangaroo!

When should I send Save the Dates?

Save the Date cards should be sent no later than 6 months and as early as 12 months prior to your wedding date.

Why should I send Save the Dates?

With the busy, busy schedules and increasingly far-flung support networks of our modern age, Save the Dates have transformed from a luxury into a near necessity. It’s important to let your invitees know to get your wedding date on their calendars. And if you’re planning a destination wedding, or even an event where many guest will have to travel, providing a Save the Date that includes travel planning information is a much-appreciated courtesy.

Who receives a Save the Date?

Send a Save the Date card to everyone on your wedding invitation list. Even if you’re sure your grandparents and great aunts are well aware of the date, they’ll surely want to be included as recipients of this special wedding memento!

So if you’re getting married anytime between this June and next January, the time to send Save the Date cards is now!
