It was so much fun working with adorable bride Kelley as she and BJ planned their amazing seaside wedding on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Kelley was one of those brides that knew exactly what she wanted and it was a joy for our design team to have free reign in creating custom artwork and incorporating her unique color scheme to deliver a cohesive, theme-defined wedding stationery suite.
Having chosen a waterside ceremony site in full view of the island’s famed lighthouse, Kelley and BJ wanted to incorporate original artwork that featured the charming nautical landmark while maintaining an elegant, sophisticated feel. To achieve this goal, they artfully used a navy and white color scheme with bright pops of lighthouse red. (All photos courtesy of Mark Staff Photography.)

Rendering the red-and-white lighthouse in a subtle taupe ink gave the stationery the right low-key feel for their outdoor wedding.
Kelley chose svelte navy dresses offset with brilliant red bouquets for her bridesmaids while the groomsmen wore crisp yet casual khaki suits appropriate for the coastal locale.
Kelley and BJ wanted their stationery to play a strong role in building cohesiveness and consistency for their elegant nautical theme throughout the ceremony and reception. According to Kelley, their choice to select coordinating menus, place cards, table cards, and favor tags, “was one of the best decisions I made because everything looked so ‘put together’ and helped give that extra detail that our guests really appreciated. You would not believe how many compliments I got with people telling me it was the nicest invitation and wedding stationery they had ever seen!”
