The Green Kangaroo is giving itself an Easter treat (did you know green kangaroos simply adore dark chocolate Cadbury eggs?) by closing the studio this Friday, April 2nd. Rest assured, you can still place orders through the Web site, and we’ll get those processed first thing Monday, April 5th.
We’ll leave you with the recipe for what we’ll be bringing to our assorted holiday brunches and egg hunts this weekend … a lovely Southern concoction that’s guaranteed to be the hit of any party!
2 tea bags
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 can of frozen, pulp-free orange juice concentrate (or 6 oz.)
1/2 can of frozen lemonade concentrate (or 6 oz.)
3 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup bourbon
Steep tea bags in 1 cup boiling water 4-5 minutes. Remove tea bags and stir in sugar until dissolved. Stir in remaining ingredients. Freeze 8 hours or overnight. Stir mixture and scoop into glasses, letting it sit several minutes until slushy. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, for real Southern flair.
Editor’s note: It’s such a pain to measure out a half can of frozen juice. Just go ahead and double the recipe. Should you have any leftover, it’ll keep in your freezer!
